The project is situated on a slope covered with olive groves and forest in the region of Nafpaktia, Greece with unobstructed views of the Corinthian Gulf. The building a single-story duplex, is harmoniously integrated into the natural landscape with a simple shell oriented along the east-west axis, offering uninterrupted views from all spaces.
A significant design consideration was to incorporate great flexibility, allowing the two residences to adapt and evolve to meet the future needs of a growing family. Access to the plot is from the north side, with entrances for each individual unit defined by two striking roof structures that traverse the building vertically and reappear on the southern facade.
At the underground level, there are auxiliary spaces and an autonomous guesthouse, while the ground floor houses the rooms of the two residences.
The shared living areas are situated along a party wall and freely access the unified terrace and pool, which serve as the focal point for gathering and leisure. The continuity of the glass facades on the northern elevation is interrupted by surfaces with wooden panels, some fixed and some operable, altering the perception of the building throughout the day and seasons. On the southern facade, the glass facades are continuous, and the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces are blurred.
The expansive unified terrace where outdoor activities unfold culminates in the infinity pool with the sunken seating area. Here, the roof structures delineate the private zones of each residence. In the first, just below the projection, a shallow water surface interrupts the continuity of the terrace and penetrates vertically into the building, while in the second, the garden enters the building under the roof, in the form of a courtyard.
The interior design is characterized by clean, modern lines, with large white and gray surfaces on walls and fixed furniture.
The floor, paved with large ceramic tiles in earthy tones, remains consistent between indoor and outdoor spaces, emphasizing their continuity.
The same contemporary palette extends to the furnishings, with white and light gray fabrics on upholstery and the occasional presence of natural wood in a raw finish.
